The International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-H) is a top-tier university in the central Indian city of Hyderabad, population 7 million.
Backed by one of the top technology and research institutes in India, the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) at the IIIT-H Foundation utilizes technology commercialization as the backbone of its incubation centre. Currently, there are 13 startups at the CIE, many of which are based on homegrown research from IIIT-H’s premier research centers and labs.
With enrollment restricted to around 1,400, IIIT-H has become a center of innovation. Recommended as a premier research institution in India by the US National Science Foundation (NSF), IIIT-H was ranked in the top 5 engineering schools in India by IT magazine Dataquest, as well as WSJ-affiliated Indian business newspaper Mint.
The CIE helps startups that build technology-differentiated products through their product development and go-to-market phases. It provides physical infrastructure, mentorship and initial seed funding. Its core focus areas include Gaming, Search and Rich Media.
